Aurora University’s Schingoethe Center Museum will host a family day Saturday, Oct. 3.
Featuring crafts, an outdoor play center and refreshments, the event will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. inside the Hill Welcome Center, 1315 Prairie St., Aurora. Admission is free.
Educational and creative activities for all ages will include:
Crafts and creativity: Enjoy Halloween-themed crafts and hands-on art projects tailored for all age groups. Included will be kite making, Halloween diamond painting, a scavenger hunt, pinwheel painting, raffles, beaded bracelet making, scratch art masks, temporary tattoo parlor, self-design buttons, Halloween decoration station, booths from Phillips Park Zoo and Farnsworth House, prizes, snacks, exhibition tours and an outdoor play center.
•Art market: Browse and shop local work at the on-site art market.
•Live music and entertainment: Experience live musical performances by Fire Chief Charlie and the AU Mariachi Band throughout the afternoon.
•Exhibition tours: Explore the museum’s featured galleries with interactive tours.
•Games and prizes: Participate in family games, an outdoor play center and raffle prize drawings.
•Snacks: Free refreshments will be available for attendees.
