NASCAR Monster championship field at four

Nascar Monster Energy series, Can-Am 500, ISM Raceway, Avondale, Ariz, Sunday, Nov. 11.

Kyle Busch took the lead with four laps to go in the final segment and held off Brad Keselowski for the victory and a spot in the final four at Homestead, Fla. Sunday for the Nascar 2018 Monster Energy championship. Following Harvick was Keselowski in second place, Kyle Larson in third, Aric Amirilolo in fourth, and Joey Logano in fifth.

The contenders for the championship race Sunday are Kyle Busch, Harvick, Logano, and Martin Truex, Jr.. Any non-contender driver can win the race, but the highest place finish of the four contending drivers will win the championship! The race will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Miami, Fla. and will be on NBC TV.

Harvick won the pole over Chase Elliot. In the first segment Harvick was in the lead until his right front tire blew out and his car brushed the wall. Elliot took the advantage and won the first stage.

Harvick started the second stage in 19th place after repairs. Elliot started in front in the second stage, but Kyle Busch quickly took over the lead and won the second stage ahead of Keselowski.

Things started to get ugly with 45 laps in the third stage when Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. hit the wall and his vehicle burst into flames.

Soon after Stenhouse, Jr.’s wreck, the big wreck occurred when Denny Hamlin and Alex Bowman collided and involved the cars of Kurt Busch, Elliot, and Eric Jones.

With 25 laps to go Bowman’s taped-up car slammed into the wall and burst into flames and the second red flag of the event was waved!

After a restart with four laps to go Kyle Busch took the lead from Keselowski and Busch won the race.

Ryan Blaney won the pole, but after that it was an all-Harvick show! Harvick finished in first followed by Ryan Blaney in second place, Logano in third, Jones in fourth, and Kyle Larson in fifth.

Harvick won the first stage when his pit crew only put on two tires to get him out of the pits quicker to beat Ryan Blaney.
