This year, Grace Holistic Center for Education (GHCFE) middle school students in Yorkville are creating a wall of memorial for Anne Frank’s story and the Holocaust. This will be the wrap-up on the end of a unit lesson.

Rather than expressing depressing parts of the time, they are focusing on the positive. They are accomplishing moments with poems, art, quotes, pictures, and even a decorated floor plan of Anne Frank’s Secret Annex.

“I would describe the wall as really creative and nice as well,” said GHCFE student Izzy.

The students and teacher predict this project will be finished by next week, and they can’t wait to see the finished product.

Jaelyn Rounds is an eighth grader and interviewed student, Izzy, a seventh grader at Grace Holistic Center for Education in Yorkville.
