Just in time for African American History Month, a bobblehead of Aurora mayor Richard C. Irvin will arrive at the Aurora Historical Society (AHS) gift shop at the Pierce Art and History Center, 20 E. Downer, Aurora, Friday, Feb. 1.
Irvin made history in 2017 when he was elected as the city’s first African American mayor.
The figures will sell for $30 plus tax.
The shop will be open for the event from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m and Mayor Irvin will autograph them until 7 p.m..
A photo exhibit will be on display to celebrate the 170th anniversary of the Burlington Northern Railroad in Aurora.
