The village government of Oswego voted to rejoin the Aurora Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (AACVB) after a 14-year absence.
“The Aurora Area Convention and Visitors Bureau is thrilled to add the Village of Oswego to the regional destination,” said Cort Carlson, executive director of the Aurora Area CVB.
The new tourism service agreement will be a benefit to the Village of Oswego with dedicated promotion, and its hotels will begin collecting leads generated by the sales efforts of the Aurora Area CVB.
“We are excited to be joining the Aurora Area Convention and Visitors Bureau,” said Oswego Village president Gail Johnson. “The Village of Oswego values partnership and working together towards common goals, and our team is looking forward to closely collaborating with the AACVB to accomplish more together in our shared vision of bringing more visitors to Oswego and the region.”
Oswego hotels will receive leads generated by Aurora Area CVB sales efforts in the niche markets of group tours, meetings, motorcoach, and sports events. Last year, Aurora Area CVB sales produced an estimated 21,486 in bookable room nights at Aurora area hotels and an estimated $4.8 Million in economic impact.
“We are truly a regional destination and can offer an even greater product mix with the addition of Oswego,” said Carlson.
