Dueling barbershop mixed choruses faced off in “A Capella Palooza” Sunday, Sept. 21.

The event took place at United Methodist Church of Geneva.
Included were individual chorus performances, combined performances, and three quartets: Four Card Monty, Just Like Dad, and Second Opinion. Second Opinion members, John Schultz, Dave Mouri, Dave Merrill, and Rick Schultz, will compete in the September 26-27 Illinois District convention in Bloomington.
Mark Barone directed the Montgomery-based Lamplighters; John Schulz directed the Harmonizers.
The program opened with both choruses singing “Anything You Can Do I Can Do Better,” and closed with a patriotic rendition of “You’re A Grand Old Flag.”
