A Patriot’s Declaration

It’s time we came to grips with how we came to be;
We did not get to be a nation by decree–
Our war for Independence did not do the act;
We weren’t coerced, we were not forced, and that’s a fact.
Our Constitution took a great amount of time
To put together, many obstacles to climb;
But here is what Americans must understand…
It was presented for approval, not demand.
Each state had been surveyed, and knew its boundaries;
And it was left up to each state the moment seize.
To put it bluntly, it was We, the People’s choice;
The whole procedure based on We, the People’s voice.
Now hear this: those advancing socialism fail
To even hint at what such changes would entail.
We could have said No to the Constitution then,
But saw that it was based upon the rights of men.
We are acknowledged being first in history–
The only nation ever based on Liberty!
