The Air Classics Museum of Aviation in Sugar Grove will open its doors for the season Saturday, April 1. The museum is one mile west of the Aurora Airport entrance at 44W546 W US Rt. 30. The Museum is open Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.. Admission is: Adults (ages 16-61) $10 Seniors (62+) $7 Children (5-15) $5 Children under 5 are free when accompanied by a parent. Group tours are available Tuesday thru Friday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m..
Exhibits consist of indoor displays of aviation memorabilia from the 1930s to the present, including uniforms, engines, and a full size mock up of an Airbus A320 cockpit.. The outdoor flight line includes a RF-86 Sabre, a TA4-J Skyhawk, a F-105 Thunder Chief, a T-39 Sabre Liner, a F-4B Phantom II, an A&E Corsair II, and a UH-1 Huey Helicopter. The Huey and Corsair saw service in the Vietnam War. On the line are full- size replicas of a P-51 Mustang, a P-40 Warhawk, a P-47 Thunderbolt and a BF-109 Messerschmitt.
The Museum honors Blue Star Families, the Museum Adventure Pass program, Harvest Hosts, and the Kane-DuPage Regional Association Passport program
