And This Above All, To Thine Own Self Be True!

I’d like to thank all those whose first thought is to give;
The ones who auction their own lives so others live.
There is but one descriptive term–humanities!
It is not done to garner praises aimed to please.
There is a crisis, there is need, that’s all she wrote.
There is no greater accolade we need to note!
Omit the platitudes and any fussy stuff;
An honest smile, an honest Thank You is enough.
The help you can give will be seen as Heaven-sent;
Portraying them as central figures, they’ll resent.
A special place in Heaven now must be reserved
A special commendation for those who know they’ve served.
Why do you climb that mountain?, asked as if a dare;
The answer never changes though—“Because it’s there!”

“And it must follow, as does night the day,’
Thou canst not then be false to any man.”
