Association for Individual Development (AID) groundbreaking in West Chicago: Main Street Lofts

Association for Individual Development (AID), in collaboration with North Arrow Partners, will be host to a groundbreaking ceremony at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 1, at 487 Main Street in West Chicago to celebrate the development of Main Street Lofts apartment complex. Illinois State Senator Karina Villa will be in attendance and representatives from AID and North Arrow Partners will offer comments on the history of the project and the positive impact Main Street Lofts will have on the community. Main Street Lofts will offer supportive housing apartments designed for individuals with developmental disabilities and/or mental health/crisis needs who are currently receiving AID services.

Since 1961, AID has served individuals with developmental, intellectual, physical and/or mental health challenges, those who have suffered a trauma and those at risk. Vital, life-enriching services that promote the highest level of independence and community participation include: autism programs; permanent supportive housing; in-home support; developmental and vocational training; job placement and on-the-job coaching services; crisis intervention; victims services; mental health treatment; behavioral intervention; health and wellness; community education; and advocacy.
