Aurora Area Retired Teachers Association (AARTA) will hold a fourth To-Go luncheon to benefit Aurora area food pantries from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 6 at Gaslite Manor, 2485 Church Road, in Aurora.
Meal choices are roast beef with red potatoes and carrots, chicken marsala with red potatoes and carrots and vegetable lasagna with carrots. All meals include a dinner roll and cookie. Dinners are $20. Volunteers deliver meals to patrons at the drive-up operation.
Proceeds will benefit Marie Wilkinson Food Pantry and Aurora Area Interfaith Food Pantry, both in Aurora
The public is invited. Orders must be placed in advance by writing to AARTA president Dick Schindel, 784 Morningside Drive, Aurora, IL 60505. The deadline for Schindel to receive orders is Friday, March 26.
According to Schindel, the third AARTA to-go luncheon February 2 served a record 117 meals. “Again, our members went above and beyond our expectations,” Schindel said. “A huge thank you goes to Gaslite Manor and to our members who volunteered to make this another flawless operation.”
Schindel said, “Monetary donations of $1,100, combined with profits from ordered meals, allowed AARTA to present checks of $930 to each of our local food pantries.”
