Scouts in Blackhawk Troop 11, meeting at Aurora’s Wesley United Methodist Church, sponsored the sixth annual “Post the Colors” fundraiser. At morning drop offs and evening retrievals, Scouts accompanied by parents and caregivers posted 350 flags in subscribers’ yards in west Aurora and North Aurora west of the Fox River.

With each flag placed, a Scout gave a special salute. Proceeds help Troop 11 maintain equipment and attend a Summer camp.

The Labor Day placements culminated deliveries/retrievals made on four holidays. Earlier holidays celebrated were Memorial Day, Flag Day and Independence Day.

In lieu of yard placements, subscribers were offered the option to have a flag posted at the Aurora police station. Subscriptions were offered for donations of $25, $30, and $50.
