Aurora City Council meeting: Tomcat Youth football wins State championship, $1,825,000 Public Works design

The Tomcat Youth Tackle Football team receives honors at the Aurora City Council meeting Tuesday for capturing the Big 10 State championship of the Chicago Youth Football League. The 7th and 8th graders were 8-1 in the regular season and earned the No. 2 seed in the top bracket to compete in the Super Bowl State championship game November 17 at Carmel Catholic High School in Mundelein. Ken Schroth, director of Public Works / City engineer, explains a resolution authorizing the director of purchasing to enter into a design services agreement in the amount of $1,825,000 with the team of Kluber, Inc. and Kueny Architects, LLC at the Aurora City Council meeting Tuesday. The Council unanimously approved, with one absence, the design for an approximately 195,000 square-foot consolidated public works facility near Liberty and New York Streets. Completion of design services should be in 2020 and construction of site work may begin in 2020 with final building construction to be completed in 2021. Jason Crane/The Voice
