One-hundred years ago, F. Scott Fitzgerald’s “The Great Gatsby,” the classic novel of the Jazz Age, was released. In honor of that anniversary, the Aurora Historical Society is celebrating with a 1920s-themed fundraiser from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6 Aurora Country Club, 1548 Prairie Street, Aurora.

Guests will enjoy food, drink, and frivolity in an historic atmosphere, where they’ll see demonstrations of the “Charleston” dance, and guests will be entertained by a Zelda Fitzgerald impersonator. There will also be a number of silent auction and raffle prizes. Guests are encouraged to get into the spirit by wearing 1920s garb, but it is not mandatory.

Tickets are now on sale and are $100 each through August 30 ($120 after that date), and sponsorships are available at several levels starting at $250. Tickets can be purchased online at buytickets.at/aurorahistoricalsociety/1787916. Tickets can also be purchased at the museum shop at the David L. Pierce Art & History Center during normal open hour, Wednesday through Friday, noon to 4 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.. No tickets will be sold over the phone, but additional information is available by calling the museum office at 630-906-0650.
