Aurora Lions Club will hold its annual Candy Day(s) fundraisers Friday and Saturday, October 11-12.
Lions president Susan Koepke said volunteers will don bright yellow aprons and stand outside Prisco’s Family Market, 1108 Prairie Street in Aurora, to accept donations from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Koepke said, “Lions will politely offer Tootsie pops to people passing by. We hope people will ask us about Lions, but most of all we hope they put a donation in our container.” Last year, 16 Aurora Lions raised $1,200 in 37 volunteer hours.
Founded in 1952, Candy Day is the premiere fundraiser for 14 services and programs provided to the hearing- and visually-impaired by LIF.
A mobile vision and hearing screening van is among services provided by the foundation.
