City of Aurora mayor, John Laesch, is set to kick off a City-wide listening tour, inviting residents to offer valuable feedback on the future of the City.
The Community Listening & Action Town Hall Tour will take place on four consecutive Saturdays, to begin July 26. Each week, the workshops will be held from 10 a.m. to noon, with locations differing to cover each of Aurora’s 10 Wards.
•Wards 1 and 10: Saturday, July 26, Metea Valley High School, 1801 N. Eola Road;
•Wards 2, 3, and 7, Saturday, Aug. 2, City of Aurora Public Works Department, 2185 Liberty Street;
•Wards 8 and 9, Saturday, Aug. 9, Eola Community Center, 555 S. Eola Road;
•Wards 4, 5, and 6, Saturday, Aug. 16, Prisco Community Center, 150 W. Illinois Avenue.
“We want to give the community an opportunity to provide feedback on the state of Aurora,” mayor Laesch said. “This listening tour will help my staff and I to better understand what our residents want to see from us and the City over the next four years.”
Each session will allow residents to work directly with City leadership to help make the community at-large more engaged, prosperous, and connected.
“We want to be responsive to the needs of our residents,” Chief of Staff Shannon Cameron said. “These Town Halls will not only assist us in serving the City, but also encourage civic engagement, helping to build towards the goal of a people-centered government.”
Residents are invited to register to reserve their seat at www.aurora.il.us/CommunityListening.
