Aurora Media Briefing: Festival of Lights

Mayor of Aurora, Richard Irvin, left, listens to Rotary Club of Aurora president, Linda Kemp’s enthusiastic report about a record-breaking 31,100 vehicles for the 13th annual Festival of Lights (FOL). She expressed appreciation for the community support to make the Festival of Lights fundraiser at Phillips Park, a record-breaking year. The free event collected more than $71,000. In August, the Club asked the community for help, with 100 volunteers to assist in the August and September preparation of the Festival of Lights. The Rotary Club of Aurora and the city of Aurora government, work together to create one of the largest free outdoor holiday light displays in the Chicago area, the Festival of Lights, in its 13th season at Aurora’s Phillips Park. More than 35 organizations receive financial support from the Rotary Club of Aurora. The group was at Aurora’s media briefing at City Hall Tuesday. See video below. Jason Crane/The Voice
