Aurora Downtown will sponsor the fifth annual Aurora Museum Week June 5 to June 11. Aurora Museum Week will focus on five museums with seven days of activities to encourage community members to visit and explore Aurora’s museums.
Aurora Museum Week highlights: Blackberry Farm (Early Streets Museum), Aurora Regional Fire Museum, Grand Army of the Republic (G.A.R.) Memorial Museum, David L. Pierce Art and History Center, and William Tanner House Museum.
David L. Pierce Art and History Center, with three floors of exhibits, includes both Aurora Historical Society and Aurora Public Art.
Each museum will be open with fun activities throughout the week including free admission days and special happenings such as Movies at a Museum featuring “The Goonies” Thursday, June 9 at dusk. Movie goers should bring their own chairs.
“Aurora Museum Week provides an opportunity to highlight each of the museums in Aurora.
