Aurora Noon Lions Club receives Aurora City report

Alex Alexandrou, Aurora’s chief management officer and chief of staff, and Trevor Dick, assistant director of the mayor’s Office of Economic Development, were keynote the Lions’ meeting at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Aurora.

After saluting Noon Lions on their 100th anniversary year, Alexandrou and Dick gave chronicles of economic developments on Aurora’s East and West Sides.

According to Alexandrou, Aurora recorded billions in economic activity since 2017.

Although the pandemic caused a hiccup in economic progress, healthy, development continued Alexandrou said.

Highlights cited by Alexandrou included the Hobbs Building renovation downtown, addition of Lindsay Windows at the former Cub Foods Store and plans for relocation and expansion of Hollywood Casino to Aurora’s East Side.

Founded in 1922, Aurora Noon Lions Club is celebrating its centennial year through December.
