Aurora Public Art released the session listing of the third week of virtual youth programming for students who are sheltering in place amid COVID-19 cancellations. All sessions are free and open to the public.
Summer programming includes sessions across many artistic media. Drawing, painting, music, dance, drama, and culinary arts are among the many offerings. Aurora Public Art will partner with other organizations to produce some of the content. For example, a weekly draw-along session will feature animals from Phillips Park Zoo. Other partnerships include poetry workshops with Aurora’s Poet Laureate and Deputy Laureates. Chefs from area restaurants will provide cooking demonstrations.
“We’re having a lot of fun bringing these programs to kids across the City,” stated Aurora Public art director, Jennifer Evans. “We look forward to extending the reach of the programs by appealing to even more viewers each week.”
Programs will be broadcast on Aurora Public Art’s Facebook and YouTube channels at 1 p.m. on the designated day. Students who are unable to access these sites on school devices may join via Zoom. Please send an email to JEvans@aurora-il.org to get access codes for Zoom sessions. Otherwise, tune in to Aurora Public Art’s Facebook or YouTube pages!
