Calling all business professionals, entrepreneurs, and career-minded individuals! Are you looking to build stronger client relationships, or make progress in your career journey? The Aurora Public Library District (APLD) invites you to participate in the roundtable discussion, Givers, Takers, & Reciprocators – Building Mutually Valuable Business Relationships that Last, Monday, Nov. 15 at 6:30 p.m. at the Santori Library (Room 125/126).
To attend, please register at aurorapubliclibrary.org/events.
The conversation will be led by Pete Kippes, president of The Hege: Strategic IT Professionals, a strategic advisory and precision search firm. Kippes said the inspiration behind the “Give, Take, Reciprocate, Repeat” motto are the, “successful mentors and advisors who have taught me how to give without ever asking what’s in it for them. It was a tremendous learning experience and one I hope to share with as many as I can.”
Throughout the discussion, Kippes will share his knowledge on the following topics:
• The Fundamentals Pillars of Business Relationships;
• The Irrefutable Power of Genuine Commitment;
• The Tripod Strong “WIN, WIN, WIN” Framework;
• How to take action: Give, Take, Reciprocate, Repeat.
Participants are strongly encouraged to impart their own experiences and insights, as well!
The importance of creating mutually beneficial relationships and giving back is a common thread throughout the program, which may be surprising to some: Kippes has observed that there’s “a common misconception […] that everyone is on the take and that business is supposed to be a competitive dog fight where] the most aggressive become the winners.” Kippes went on to say, “In fact, it is those who win over the appreciation of others who truly emerge as the leaders.”
It’s a way of conducting business that Kippes has found success with: “I’m personally and professionally committed to helping my colleagues, clients, and fellow business owners by introducing them to my interconnected and meshed network of uniquely talented business professionals. Those valuable introductions tend to strengthen the bonds of our interconnected network and perpetuates its value by making each one of us even more capable of helping one another.”
Helping one another is something we value at APLD, too. Throughout the year, we offer additional business and career programs on our events page. We’ve compiled a list of business and career resources, which you can find on our website’s (aurorapubliclibrary.org) community resources page. We hope library programs such as, Givers, Takers, & Reciprocators, and our resources, help you and your business grow!
