Two former Aurora University women’s soccer forwards were named to the school’s Athletic Hall of Fame Saturday.

Enshrined were Chrissy Pluchinski Fitzgerald of Crown Point, Ind., a 1999 alum, and Nicci Bermudes Snodgrass, Bloomington, Ill., a 2016 alum.

The 2024 class members were announced at a breakfast in the university banquet hall during homecoming weekend. Jim Hamad, vice president for athletics, announced the selections who gave brief remarks in response.

Fitzgerald, a nurse, was named team MVP in 1998, AU Female Athlete of the year and Chris Thompson Award recipient in 1999 and all-conference 1996-1998. At graduation in 1999, she held school records for career goals (73), points (166) and game-winning goals (16). Currently she is second in goals, third in points and third in game-winning goals.

Snodgrass set school records for goals (100), points (240) and game-winning goals (33). She was named All-American 2013-2015, AU Female Athlete of the Year for 2013-2015 and Spartan Woman of the Year in 2016. Additionally, she was named Academic All-American 2013-2015, three-time NACC offensive player of the year and CoSIDA Academic All-American of the Year in 2015.

In addition to Hamad, remarks were offered by AU President Susana Rivera-Mills and Courtney Naber, head women’s soccer coach.

Saturday evening the women’s soccer Spartans celebrated their 30th anniversary with a 2-2 tie at Spartan Athletic Park in Montgomery.
