Vehicles form a line that stretched for one city block at Aurora’s Hall Elementary School on a rain-filled Saturday, April 30. Fifth Ward residents lined up to dispose trash at an annual Fifth Ward cleanup from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.. Fifth Ward alderman Carl Franco sponsored the free cleanup at three Fifth Ward locations. Accepted items were building materials, empty/dried out paint cans, discarded furniture, large and small household appliances, carpets and pads, grills, wood, metal, toys, bicycles, and mattresses.
