Bibi Belford, author of Crossing the Line, shares excerpts of her book Tuesday at the Kiwanis Club of Aurora meeting at the Prisco Center. The book is an award-winning middle grade novel inspired by the true events leading up to the 1919 Chicago race riots. The book includes a story about an inter-racial friendship which triggers a series of events that will change both of their lives forever.
Bibi is a former classroom teacher, reading teacher, and literacy coach in the East Aurora School District 131, who lives in Chicago and has written books for children and teens.
