In a remarkable effort to enhance transportation options for those in need, a dedicated local Rotarian from Batavia has spearheaded a bike reclamation project that will benefit residents in Miami, Florida. This initiative not only demonstrates the spirit of Rotary but also showcases how local actions can create a ripple effect in communities far beyond one’s own.

The project connects the Batavia Rotary Club with the Miami Shores Rotary Club, creating a partnership that restores abandoned bicycles and distributes them to residents in Miami who lack reliable transportation. This initiative addresses a critical need while promoting sustainability through the recycling of unused bikes.

“We believe that everyone deserves access to reliable transportation, and through this project, we are able to support individuals in Miami while also fostering a strong sense of community between our two Rotary Clubs,” said Tom Van Cleave, the organizer of the project.
