A habitat restoration work day will be held at Bliss Woods Forest Preserve from 9 to noon Saturday, April 23. Planting shrubs and trees and pulling garlic mustard will be on the agenda. Tools will be provided, but feel free to bring a favorite shovel. Look forward to seeing some of the earliest wildflowers.
Bliss Woods is a beautiful, high-quality woodland hosting many unusual plants.
Removing invasive species and replacing them with native species will help sustain its unique nature.
Please dress for the weather in layers including sturdy shoes or boots and work gloves. We will meet at the parking lot of Templo Belem, 42W635 Kedeka Road in Sugar Grove.
Refreshments will be available at the break. Anyone under 13 must be accompanied by an adult. For further information please send to Mary Ochsenschlager at maryoxie@sbcglobal.net or call Robb at the Kane County Forest Preserve at 630 232-5980.
