State representative Mark Batinick (R-Plainfield) will be host to a blood drive in partnership with Plainfield Township, Plainfield Area Chamber of Commerce, and Versiti Blood Center of Illinois. The event will take place from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 14 at Plainfield Township Community Center, 15014 S. Des Plaines Street.
As a safety precaution, donations will be by appointment only (no walk-ins) and face coverings will be required. To make an appointment, please visit: donate.illinois.versiti.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule/5585227.
State representative Mark Batinick is eager to present the event to help boost the blood supply in Illinois. “As the pandemic continues, there continues to be a severe blood shortage in Illinois,” said Batinick. “To host this event at this time, we are taking into account all the necessary safety precautions for volunteers, donors and staff. Our community has already come together in so many ways to help each other out, I know this is just one more way we can continue to do that, and in this case together we can help save lives.”
Spots are limited for blood donation, so interested residents should make an appointment as soon as possible.
With questions, constituents can contact representative Batinick’s district office at 815-254-0000.
