Lisa Carter, in Montgomery has what she calls “The Boulder Hill Keychain Library.” It’s similar to a Little Free Library, but instead of books, she’s built a small stand at the end of her driveway filled with handmade keychains.

Neighbors are invited to “take one or leave one.” They trade keychains, or drop off small toys and trinkets that she later will transform into new keychains and hangs back up on the library. She posts updates and photos in local Montgomery, Oswego, and Aurora Facebook groups, and the response has been amazing. On busy days she’ll see dozens of trades—sometimes close to 50—from kids on bikes, families out walking, and grandparents who bring their grandkids over just to visit the library.

It has quietly become a little community landmark on our street and something that genuinely brings our neighbors together.

If you would like to visit her keychain library it can be found at 69 Marnel Road, Montgomery.
