You have heard this before, but I’ll say it with force,
For the sake of humanity, bring back the horse.
There are dozens of reasons, so little suspense,
For the logic behind it makes simply good sense.
The main thing, of course, it compels you to care
For a creature beside just yourself, and the wear
And the tear, the sheer needs, of that constant routine
Will require you to act, and from those actions glean.
For these new technological magical “needs”
That you think so essential are something which feeds
The destruction of caring, outside of yourself,
Which encourages building a life on a shelf.
I don’t need to say more, because in your mind’s eye
You’ve envisioned a lot more of things which apply.
So I say it with emphasis, bring back the horse—
It may be the salvation of humanity’s course.
