Briscoe wins 75th NASCAR Cook Out Southern 500

NASCAR Cup Series, Cook Out Southern 500, Darlington Raceway, Darlington, S.C., Sunday, Aug. 31.

It was the 75th anniversary of Cook Out Southern 500 and last year’s winner, and this year’s, was Chase Briscoe. Following in second was Tyler Reddick, Eric Jones in third, John H Nemechek in fourth, and AJ Allmendinger in fifth.

Denny Hamlin started on pole position.

In the first lap Josh Berry hit the wall and spun out in front of Kyle Busch and Reddick.

Briscoe won Stage 1.

In Stage 2 Briscoe led most of the stage ahead of Ross Chastain.

Carson Hocevar spun out and hit Ryan Blaney, whose right front tire blew out. Blaney then spin out and hit into Busch.

Briscoe won stage 2.

Briscoe led more than 300 laps in the race, but in the last 10 laps, Jones and Reddick were gaining on Briscoe. But traffic helped Briscoe to stay in the lead to the finish.

•News: The Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet will host a set of races July 4-5, 2026. The Chicago Street race will be replaced with the previously-mentioned race.

NASCAR Cup Series, The Coke Zero 400 Daytona International Speedway, Daytona, Fla., Saturday, Aug. 23.

This race was won flag to flag by polesitter, Ryan Blaney. Follwing in second place was Daniel Suarez, Justin Haley in third, Cole Custer in fourth, and Eric Jones in fifth.

Casey Mears had a tire blow out and he crashed on lap 13. He was out of the race.

Reddick and Todd Gilliland collided and they spun out.

The big one came later when Bubba Wallace tapped Joe Logano which resulted in a calamity involving Busch, Kyle Larson, and 10 other vehicles. It took a while for the clean up.

After the restart and Larson won Stage 1 ahead of Ryan Blaney.

Hocevar lost an engine early in Stage 2.

Ross Chastain won Stage 2 head of Logano.

With 25 laps to go in final stage BJ McLeod lost a tire and hit the outer wall.

Logano led most of Stage 3. Near the end of the stage, Jones took the lead over Logano. With 12 laps to go, Logano spun out and Blaney took the lead and held on for the finish.

NASCAR Cup Series, The Cook Out 400, Richmond Raceway, Richmond, Va., Saturday, Aug. 8-16-25

Race winner was Austin Dillon. Following in second was Alex Bowman, Ryan Blaney in third, Logano in fourth, and Austin Cindric.

Ryan Preese set pole position and Stage 1 was won by Tyler Reddick.

At the start of Stage 2 Logano and Wallace started last.

With 32 laps to go, Ty Gibbs spun out and in all, 12 cars were involved.

Wallace won stage 2.

In Stage 3 Dillion was in command and went on to win the race.

NASCAR Cup Series, Go Bowling at the Glen, Watkins Glen International, Watkins Glen, N.Y., Sunday, Aug. 10.

Blaney won the pole position on the difficult road racing track, but at the end of the race it was the New Zealand’s Shane van Gisbergen who was the winner. Following in second was Chris Bell, Chris Buescher, in third, William Byron in fourth, and Briscoe in fifth.

Larson spins out just six laps into the race.

Chris Buescher won Stage 1.

Preese started stage 2 out in front. Nemechek spun out after contact with Gibbs.

Gisbergan won Stage 2 ahead of Bell.

Keselowski lost a tire with six laps to go and Gisbergen took the lead to win the race with a 10 second lead.

NASCAR Cup Series, Iowa Corn 350, Iowa Speedway, Newton, Iowa, Sunday, Aug. 3.

Winner of this race was William Byron. Following in second was Bricoe, Keselowski in third, Blaney in fourth, and Ryan Preese in fifth.

Pole was won by Briscoe.

Byron led most of Stage 1 and was passed with just two laps to go by Keselowski for the win.

In Stage 2, Zane Smith was tapped by Hocevar and spun out. Later Bell and Reddick spun out with help from Ty Dillon.

After pit action, Byron took lead and won ahead of Briscoe.

Brad Keselowski had a good race and led 65 laps.
