The Illinois Department of Natural Resources Urban and Community Fishing Program will have instructors to teach participants basic angling skills including casting, knot tying, and fish identification, while demonstrating ethical angling practices for evenings of fishing fun at Lake Patterson in Oakhurst Forest Preserve, 1680 Fifth Avenue, in Aurora.
Participants can bring their own equipment or borrow loaner tackle and rods while supplies last. Illinois fishing regulations and site-specific rules will apply.
Tuesday, Aug. 5; 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.;
Wednesday, Sept. 3; 5 p.m. to 7 p.m..
No registration is required for these free, all ages programs.
