The Fox River Valley Library invites the community to celebrate the holiday season with a variety of festive programs and events. From music trivia to crafting unique ornaments, there’s something for everyone to enjoy this December.
•Holiday Music Trivia, Date: Tuesday, Dec. 10, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Black & Gray Brewing, 311 Barrington Avenue, East Dundee.
Celebrate the season with a lively game of holiday music trivia at Black & Gray Brewing.
Participants can enjoy small prizes and the chance to engage in some spontaneous caroling.
•Sewing Studio: DIY Felt Ornaments, Tuesday, Dec. 10, 6 p.m. to 7:15 p.m., Randall Oaks Library, 500 N. Randall Road, West Dundee
Youth in grades 4–8 can create felt ornaments perfect for gifting or decorating the tree.
•Diorama Ornaments, Thursday, Dec. 12, 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Dundee Library, 555 Barrington Avenue, East Dundee.
Teens in grades 6–12 are invited to design whimsical winter scenes in terrarium globe ornaments.
•Winter Nail Art, Thursday, Dec. 12 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Dundee Library.
Learn simple techniques to create winter-themed press-on nails during this hands-on workshop.
•Holiday Guitar Concert, Wednesday, Dec. 18, 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Dundee Library
Enjoy an evening of holiday music performed by talented guitarists from various musical backgrounds. Special guest Satara, the library’s Battle of the Bands winner, will close the night with an energetic live set.
•Cookie Decorating Drop-In, Thursday, Dec. 19, 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., Dundee Library
All ages are welcome to drop in and decorate festive cookies to celebrate the season.
•The Nightmare Before Christmas Ornaments, Saturday, Dec. 21 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Dundee Library
Teens in grades 6–12 can create ornaments inspired by The Nightmare Before Christmas. Options include sewing felt characters or coloring designs on shrink film.
