The City of Aurora’s Fleet Maintenance Division is excited to announce the donation of a retired hybrid fleet vehicle to West Aurora High School’s Automotive and Technical Center.
The Center, which offers automotive technology classes that specialize in various areas of study, including brakes and computer control, will utilize the 2008 Ford Escape Hybrid to offer in-depth learning opportunities and hands-on vehicle repair trainings for students.
“We appreciate our long-standing partnership with West Aurora School District 129,” Chris Linville, superintendent of Fleet Maintenance, said. “This vehicle will help prepare our next generation of auto workers, giving them the chance to learn valuable skills on an industry-standard model. The City of Aurora is proud to continue to enrich the lives of its youth through opportunities like this.”
The West Aurora Automotive and Technical Center is located at 202-208 Genesis Drive in North Aurora, and has hosted West Aurora High School automotive classes since the 2023-24 school year.
