The Friends of the Great Western Trails will celebrate 30 years of cleaning trails with the 2025 Annual Trails Cleanup of the Great Western Trails & Illinois Prairie Path Saturday, April 26, at approximately 9 a.m.. Times will be set by the local coordinators.
Over the years thousands have joined and helped clean the trails from Sycamore to Villa Park.
In 1995 the group started with just four volunteers cleaning the Great Western Trail in Lombard, Ill.. They remain an all volunteer group dedicated to protecting the trails and it’s users.
