The Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley is introducing a new grant opportunity – the Better Together Community Grant – to encourage local agencies to team up and collaborate on a new project that tackles a top concern facing the Fox Valley community.

The Better Together grant program is in direct response to the recent findings of a Community Needs Assessment that the Community Foundation and Dunham Foundation conducted over the past two years with the research firm Conduent.

Conduent’s report identified seven community needs of most concern, as identified by area residents:

1) Housing and Affordable Housing, 2) Mental Health, 3) Economic Opportunity, 4) Education, 5) Healthcare Access and Quality, 6) Transportation, and 7) Food Access and Food Security.

“In recognition of the Foundation’s 75th anniversary in 2023,” said Julie Christman, president and CEO, Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley, “we have designated $75,000 to launch the Better Together Grant program to support innovative new projects or programs not offered in our community, but are needed to address the most urgent concerns of Fox Valley residents.”

Don’t wait to apply. Letters of Interest are due Friday, March 1.

LOIs (Letters of Intent) can be submitted online on the Community Foundation’s cffrv.org/better-together-community-grant. Grants will be limited to collaborations, projects, programs or partnerships that address at least one of these seven community needs. Nonprofits do not need to have a partner finalized in order to express their interest in the grant through the LOI.
