Sierra Club Valley of the Fox and Trajectory Energy Partners will be hosts to a Zoom presentation for their Earth Month program, Pollinator-friendly Community Solar for Kane County at 7 p.m. Monday, April 12. We will cover community solar program details, savings benefits, and contract terms.

Community solar is a fantastic new idea that makes it so everybody can be part of the green energy revolution, and by putting beautiful flowering Native American prairie plants underneath our solar panels, we get clean, renewable energy, plus a pollinator-friendly habitat to help our beloved monarch butterflies and honey bees.

Have you seen those big solar farms at Mooseheart and at the Fox Metro Water Reclamation District, with acres of solar panels? Now, with community solar, you can have your own piece of the solar pie.

Most don’t have a roof that’s solar ready: Either it’s too shady, or old, or, maybe you’re a renter. What should you do if you can’t put solar panels on your own roof, but you are eager to use green, renewable energy? Become a subscriber to a community solar project and become a member of a new community, a solar community! It’s similar to owning your own solar panels, but they are out in a field somewhere, or on a big roof somewhere in a town or city.

Please join us to learn how you can save money while supporting local, renewable, energy. Most of these plans have no up-front costs, so it’s more affordable than rooftop solar, and most of them will reduce your electric bill.

We are thrilled to have Hal Sprague from Trajectory Energy Partners as our guest speaker. We welcome Trajectory to help us learn more about pollinator-friendly community solar. Sierra Club does not endorse specific companies.
