Heather Martinez, one of six speakers at the East Aurora District 131 School Board meeting Monday, expresses concern with class sizes increasing and the need for support staff to help students who will have more difficulty competing with students from neighboring affluent districts.
Earlier in the day, Board and District administrators continued negotiations with representatives of the East Aurora Council union. Both sides are working to reach an agreement on issues related to teacher and support staff transfer rights and filling vacancies and assignments. East Aurora Council Local 604, American Federation of Teachers, has threatened to go on strike.
