Concerns of a crowded cannabis dispensary at Aurora’s Committee of the Whole

Thomas Mihelic, owner of the Manpower franchise in Aurora explains to Aurora City Council members his concerns about a proposed cannabis dispensing facility at 1415 Corporate Boulevard, Tuesday, at the Committee of the Whole meeting. He stated his business occupies 56%t of the building near the entrance of the outlet mall off of Farnsworth Avenue and has been there for 20 years. Only 15 parking spaces are for the proposed dispensary. His concerns include the heavy traffic as in the case of the North Aurora and Chicago dispensaries. Jason Crane/The Voice
Robert V. Fitzsimmons, right, chairman and CEO of NuMed Partners, LLC, is requesting approval of a special use for a cannabis dispensing facility. He explained to the Council there will not be onsite consumption and the packaging is sealed and child-proof. He said they will provide off-site and valet parking and have an efficient, express, product pick-up service. NuMed locations include Chicago, East Peoria, and Urbana.
