Cosmo Club race in Sycamore

The Cosmopolitan Club of Aurora and Sycamore Speedway, are joining together, to bring an awareness about Diabetes, Saturday, July 27, at Sycamore Speedway, Route 64, Maple Park. Gates will open at 6 p.m..

The Cosmo members are looking forward to the “Race to Fight Diabetes”, meeting with race fans, and handing out information about diabetes. The Cosmo Club will offer a free door prize drawing, with winners to receive souvenir T-shirts and can koozies, a 50/50 cash raffle, and will accept donations to fight diabetes.

The Cosmopolitan Club of Aurora members raise funds for diabetes research at the University of Chicago-Kovler Diabetes Center, ADA Summer Camps for diabetic children, diabetes education at the Rush Copley Diabetes Center, and assist diabetics in obtaining diabetic alert dogs (DADs).

Tiffany Olson, general manager of Sycamore Speedway, who has been helpful and generous in making this event possible, said she and her staff members, are looking forward to the “Race to Fight Diabetes”, calling attention to Diabetes awareness, and the efforts of the Cosmopolitan Club of Aurora, which assists diabetics, and raises funds for research to help find a cure for diabetes.

Logan Brendle, a Type 1 Diabetic since birth, and son of race car driver, Jay Brendle, will particulate in the opening ceremony, with Cosmo members, who have diabetes.

Cosmo member and race car driver, Matt McCain, has promoted the “Race to Fight Diabetes”, and is the grandson of Russ George, president of the Cosmopolitan Club.
