Cosmopolitan Club of Aurora, the club that fights diabetes, will hold its second annual “A Night at the Barn” fundraiser from 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday, June 24 at the barn at Blackberry Farm, 100 S. Barnes Road in Aurora. The public is invited. Parking is free.
Included will be live music by “The Magnetos,” a ‘50s and ‘60s classic rock band, food from Spartan House Restaurant in Aurora, and a cash bar.
Free drawings for door prizes and gift cards, will be held during the evening. Raffles are planned for approximately 30 gift baskets, a large screen television, Chicago Cubs baseball tickets, and a 50/50 cash drawing.
Cosmo president Russ George said, “The Cosmopolitan Club of Aurora cordially invites everyone to attend our second annual main fundraiser. The barn at Blackberry Farm will come alive with an evening of fun and excitement at 6:30 p.m. Friday, June 24.”

Aurora Cosmos celebrated its 95th anniversary June 6 with a mayoral proclamation and display at the Pierce History Museum in Aurora.
Founded in 1927, Cosmopolitan Club of Aurora is known as the club that fights diabetes. In 1973, the Cosmos started a campaign against diabetes.
Today the nonprofit promotes awareness of diabetes and raises funds for diabetes research at University of Chicago’s Kovler Diabetes Center, ADA educational Summer camps for type 1 diabetic children, diabetes education at Rush Copley Diabetes Educational Center, and helps provide diabetic alert dogs.
Aurora Cosmos meet at 6:30 p.m. the third Thursday of each month at Oak Street Restaurant, 945 Oak Street. in North Aurora. Dinner at 5:30 p.m. is optional. Prospective members are invited. Call 630-966-0657 or visit auroracosmo.org for more information.
