Cosmopolitan Club of Aurora drive-through dinner fights diabetes

Cosmopolitan Club of Aurora and Aurora Advent Christian Church will work together to fight diabetes.

The Cosmos, a nonprofit that focuses on fighting diabetes, will hold a drive-through barbecue dinner fundraiser, 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 28, at the Church, 905 N. Edgelawn Drive in Aurora.

The public is invited. Proceeds will benefit the club’s anti-diabetes initiatives, including diabetes research, education and wellness, ADA summer camps for Type 1 diabetic children and helping to provide diabetic alert dogs.

Russ George, Aurora Cosmo president, said 5-B’s Catering will prepare meals. Options are a half chicken dinner, $15; two pork chops dinner, $15; one quarter chicken and one pork chop dinner, $15; and a hot dog meal, $5. Side dishes with dinners are applesauce, baked beans, coleslaw, and dinner roll with butter.
