Medal of Honor recipient Allen J. Lynch of Gurnee offers remarks at the third annual Fox Valley Veterans Breakfast Club Christmas celebration Thursday, Dec. 12, at Portillo’s restaurant in Oswego. Lynch, then Spc4, distinguished himself in a personal rescue operation while serving as a radio telephone operator with Company D. with the forward element on an operation near the village of My An during the Vietnam War. Lynch urged breakfast attendees to “Get out of the house with your children and grandchildren. Talk about freedom and your military service.
