Members of the Diabetes Club of Fox Valley are working together to provide aid, awareness, education, and research, to find a cure. Fighting diabetes starts with making everyone in the Fox Valley area aware of diabetes and prediabetes, and how uncontrolled blood sugar (glucose) can cause vision problems, heart problems, nerve damage, dental problems, kidney damage and more problems! Diet and exercise are two of the most powerful tools we all have to help control our blood glucose. Eat healthy, stay active, and have a yearly blood test, to stay diabetes-free!

The temperature was approximately 70 degrees when we started setting up, but when the evening went on, it turned cooler, and by 6:45 p.m. a light rain started to bring the event to an end.

Fifth Ward alderman, Carl Franco, made sure there was plenty of pizza to eat and beverages to drink, which were enjoyed by all who attended this year’s event.

The attendance seemed a little lighter than last year, however, everyone did enjoy the event, especially the kids when the fire truck and ambulance arrived, with sirens on!

A shoutout of thanks to Carl Franco, from the members of the Diabetes Club of Fox Valley, for allowing our Club to participate in this year’s National Night Out.
