The Diabetes Club of Fox Valley held its February 21, “Meet and Greet”, at Panera Bread, 1330 N. Orchard Road, in Aurora.
A shout out of thanks to the staff, at Panera Bread, for allowing our club to distribute information about diabetes, prediabetes, and healthy eating.
Members of the Diabetes Club of Fox Valley observe that our country has a diabetes epidemic, that can only be solved by bringing groups of people together, highlighting the dangers of uncontrolled blood sugar (glucose), which can cause vision, heart and dental problems, in addition to nerve and kidney damage.
Start eating healthy, while staying active and having a yearly blood test, to stay diabetes free!
Diabetes Club members distribute helpful information about diabetes, from the American Diabetes Association (ADA), along with information on healthy eating, including our new “Diabetic Recipes” booklet.
Couldn’t make it to our February “Meet and Greet” to pickup information on diabetes, prediabetes and healthy eating, send an E-mail with your name and mailing address to: Diabetesclubfv@gmail.com, requesting information on diabetes.
The Diabetes Club of Fox Valley will hold it’s March “Meet and Greet”, organized by media chairperson, Ann McBride, to expose our Club and our mission, Saturday, March 14, from 9 a.m. to noon, at Jake’s Bagels & Deli, 220 N. Broadway, in downtown Aurora.
Please save the following dates for the Diabetes Club of Fox Valley’s three annual fundraisers, being held during 2026.
•Saturday, June 6: 4th Annual “Tee Off to Defeat Diabetes” Golf Outing and Banquet, at Bliss Creek Golf Course, 1 Golf View Road, in Sugar Grove.
•Friday, Nov. 6: 3rd Annual “A Night To End Diabetes” Gala Dinner, at Lincoln Inn, 1345 South Batavia Avenue, in Batavia.
•Saturday, Nov. 21: 2nd Annual “Healthy Futures Expo”, at The Venue, 21 S. Broadway, in downtown Aurora. This event is co-hosted by the Diabetes Club of Fox Valley and Legacy Nutrition & Fitness, 77 S. River Street, in downtown Aurora.
Members of the Diabetes Club of Fox Valley wish to thank everyone who participated, and/or made a donation, to our annual fundraisers last year.
Your support allowed the Diabetes Club of Fox Valley to make $21,600 in donations to help in our fight against diabetes through research at UChicago-Kovler Diabetes Center, treating un-insured diabetics at the VNA, assisting diabetics in obtaining and/or supporting their diabetic or therapy support animal, and other meaningful donations to aid our Fox Valley community.
The Diabetes Club of Fox Valley is a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Organization. A true grassroots organization, where all money raised through dues, donations and fundraising is used for the club’s fight against diabetes.
