The newly-formed Diabetes Club of Fox Valley (DCFV) will hold its first membership meeting this year Thursday, Jan. 12, at the historic Gray’s Mill Estate, 211 North River Street, Montgomery, Ill.
Meeting and dinner will be held on the second floor Banquet Room. Dinner is on members’ own from the menu at 5:30 p.m., the meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. and guests are always welcome!
Guest speaker, Matt Brolley, mayor of Montgomery, will welcome the Diabetes Club of Fox Valley to Montgomery and the historic Gray’s Mill Estate.
During the business portion of the meeting, members will be updated on the status of the Club’s project to help seven-year-old, Type 1 diabetic twins, Jackson and Elliot Webster, obtain a Diabetic Alert Dog (DAD). The Diabetes Club of Fox Valley members already have raised close to $6,000, which is the amount needed to begin the training process.
DCFV vice president of programs, Chuck Nelson, has arranged to have Jeanette and Denny Lee, Montgomery’s historians, speak at the Club’s February 9 membership meeting. Jeanette and Denny Lee will take Club members back in time to give everyone a history lesson on the historic Gray’s Mill.
