The Diabetes Club of Fox Valley DCFV), due to bad weather, has rescheduled its Meet and Greet to 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Jan. 20, at Jake’s Bagels & Deli, 220 N. Broadway, in downtown Aurora. The Diabetes Club of Fox Valley was established with a mission to support efforts to prevent and find a cure for diabetes. Stop and pick up information on diabetes and pre-diabetes. Uncontrolled blood sugar can cause vision problems, heart problems, nerve damage, dental problems, kidney damage, and more! Diet and exercise are two of the most powerful tools you have to help control your blood sugar. Eat healthy and stay active!
Ricky Rieckert, a life-long resident of Aurora, has become DCFV’s, 53rd member by joining at our January 11 monthly membership meeting. Ricky was Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus #736 for five years, and has volunteered at the Handicap Olympics. He is Grand Knight of Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, and an active member in the Aurora Lions Club. He stated that he likes to stay active, loves to help less fortunate people in the world, especially the Aurora community, and looks forward to helping the Diabetes Club of Fox Valley in its fight against diabetes.
