I had the opportunity to attend VNA Health Care’s, Community Open House for their new clinic, located at 323 Weston Avenue, in Aurora.
Sonny de Rama, vice president of innovation and development, for VNA Health Care, and a member of our Diabetes Club, gave me a personal tour of their new facility, located in the old emergency room area, of the former Copley Hospital building. I was overwhelmed with the reconstruction of their area, how efficiently it was laid out, and how beautifully it was decorated. Upon completion of the tour, we discussed VNA’s Diabetic Total Care Program and the impact of health problems diabetes is causing within our area communities.
The Diabetes Club of Fox Valley made a $2,500 donation to VNA’s Diabetic Total Care Program, to aid uninsured diabetic patients.
Members of the Diabetes Club of Fox Valley work together, to provide diabetes awareness in the Fox Valley area, while raising funds to provide aid and education for diabetics, along with investing in research to find a cure. Uncontrolled blood sugar (glucose) can cause vision problems, heart problems, nerve damage, dental problems, kidney damage and more. Eat healthy, stay active and have a yearly blood test, to stay diabetes free!
