The Diabetes Club of Fox Valley (DCFV) held their February “Mini Fundraiser” Saturday, Feb. 1, at the Chipotle Mexican Grill, 1480 N. Orchard Road, in Aurora.
DCFV fundraising chairperson, Jenny McCain, said, “DCFV Club members send a shoutout of thanks to Chipotle’s, for donating 25% of their sales back to our Diabetes Club, and a big thank you to all the members and friends of DCFV, who participated in this month’s mini fundraiser”.
Members of the Diabetes Club of Fox Valley will hold their February membership meeting Wednesday, Feb. 12, at Oak Street Restaurant, 945 Oak Street, in North Aurora.
Meeting will be held in the East Banquet Room. Dinner is optional on members’ own from the menu at 5:30 p.m. and meeting begins at 6:30 p.m.. Plan on bringing your sweetheart as we celebrate Valentines Day, a few days early with some healthy treats.

Our Club’s February “Meet and Greet”, organized by media chairperson, Ann McBride, to expose our Club and our mission, will be held Saturday, Feb. 15, from 9 a.m. to noon, at Atrevete Cafe 1888, 504 Lincoln Avenue, on the new Bloomhaven campus.
This historic site was home to the original Copley Hospital, built in 1888, and is the second site of popular Atrevete Confections*, in neighboring Montgomery.
Why not stop by, meet some of our members and take a look at how this 137 year old building has been renovated for the Atrevete Cafe 1888. Informational flyers on diabetes, prediabetes and healthy meal planning will be available. Atrevete Confections is a purveyor of fine French pastries from esteemed Chef Jacqueline Mejia.
Members of the Diabetes Club of Fox Valley work together, to provide diabetes awareness in the Fox Valley area, while raising funds to provide aid and education for diabetics, along with investing in research to find a cure. Uncontrolled blood sugar (glucose) can cause vision problems, heart problems, nerve damage, dental problems, kidney damage and more. Eat healthy, stay active and have a yearly blood test, to stay diabetes free!
