The Batavia Public Library’s artist for March is Robert J. Krawczyk, a native of Chicago, who lives in Batavia. He was a graduate from the University of Illinois Chicago, College of Architecture. In the 1970s, while working in the architectural office of Murphy/Jahn in Chicago he was a pioneer in digital graphic applications.
Over the last 22 years, he has applied his education and work experience to his artwork. His research into digital methods in the disciplines of science, mathematics, architecture, art, and technology has been published and presented internationally in the form of prints, web pieces, sculptural, and architectural studies presented in a body of work spanning more than 100 exhibitions and 37 conference papers.
Krawczyk is a professor in the College of Architecture at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago and focuses on digital craftsmanship.
The artist’s work will be on display through the end of March in the art gallery on the main level.
