Dolan and Murphy men’s fastpitch softball team won the North American Fastball Association Wisconsin area tournament in LaCrosse, Wis. with an unblemished 4-0 record.
Dolan, 16-10, will play in the International Softball Congress (ISC) World Tournament, August 14-21, in Eldridge, Iowa, north of the Quad Cities.
Leading the offense are Robert Reder, .444; Mick Baker, .390; Luis Saldana .363; and Dave Perkins, .338.
In the final game in LaCrosse, Dolan defeated DeKalb, 11-1. Pablo Migliavacca was the winning pitcher. Leading the offense was Garret Haas with three hits, one double, one triple, and one run batted in (RBI). Kyle Pittman produced two hits, one a home run, and three RBIs; Dave Perkins collected three hits with one RBI; Luis Saldana added three RBIs; and of Reder’s two hits, one was a triple. He drove in a run.
Dolan won its first game, 3-2, over LaCrosse. Alex Ibarra was the winning pitcher and Migliavacca took the save. Leading the offense were Mick Baker with three hits and Garrett Haas with two hits and one RBI.
Dolan won its next game by the score of 5-2. Ibarra was the winning pitcher and Migliavacca got the save. Leading the offense were Reder with three hits and an RBI. Luis Saldana collected three hits with an RBI. Pittman added two hits, one a triple, and drove in a run. and John Schweighart’s two hits included aa triple and an RBI.
In the semifinal Dolan defeated Baldwin, Wis., 8-4. Ibarra was the winning pitcher with Migliavacca getting another save. Leading the offense were Haas with two hits, one home run, and one RBI. Perkins added two hits and two RBIs. Saldana picked up two hits and two RBIs and Schweighart added two RBIs.
